Will all the ulpanists be English speaking?
The kibbutz ulpan provides the ulpanist with a wide, cross-cultural experience. Not only does the ulpanist get to experience the Israeli culture at first hand, but as today the majority of people attending kibbutz ulpan are from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union as well as South America, Europe, etc., there is an exposure to people from other backgrounds and cultures. Additionally, participants will be sharing classes with “Olim Chadashim” (new immigrants). Question: Is there a kibbutz ulpan on every kibbutz. No. There are about 20 kibbutzim with ulpanim. These kibbutzim are located all over Israel and represent all three kibbutz movements.
