Will airline tickets to Hawaii go back down?

Probably not, seeing as how that is the start of the tourist season in Hawaii. To minimize the cost, I suggest booking separately (I always do it and it saves me a few hundred dollars). Check hotwire or expedia for cheap flights to cali (or at least the west coast) then check www.hawaiianair.com for some cheaper flights into HNL. I’ll do a little research myself and get back to you with the results. EDIT: Yeah, even this isn’t looking too good. The cheapest I can find from LAX to HNL totals about $382, and the cheapest I can find from MSY to LAX totals about $334, so either way you’ll end up paying about $700 and up. Try going to Hawaiian Air and signing up for unadvertised low fares, that may save you some money.

Unfortunately, May – August is prime season for tickets to Hawaii. $700 for a ticket from New Orleans to Honolulu is actually very reasonable. $472 is unheard of! Prices won’t go back down until our “low” season which is between September and April. Happy hunting and happy travels!
