Will absolute power corrupt a person absolutely?

No, I don’t think absolute power corrupts absolutely. The reality of the situation is, that most people given that position are those who will use it incorrectly. If you give the right people that power, they will get things done. However, history seems to tell a different story, take the story of Gaius Julius for example. Gaius Julious, King of Rome, was given absolute control over the small city state. He used his power to forge a Roman empire. This empire would stand amongst the greatest empires to of ever exist. However, Gaius Julius let all that power go to his head. With the loyalty of Rome’s Army, Gaius Julius decided to overthrow the Roman senate; establishing the first Roman monarchy. As a result of overthrowing democracy, Gaius Julious was assasionated by the sword. I don’t know if there is a lesson to be learned in this story, but it does suggest that there should always be limits to one’s power.
