YES, a weedkiller will harm your avocado tree and possibly your grass. You’re using an herbicide on plants. May I recommend not using a weed killer? I work in pesticide regulation and in water quality and we are having SO many problems in urban streams because of self-applied herbicides and insecticides. As an alternative, may I recommend reading this site and perhaps following some of the management practices to help you have a healthy lawn?
