Will a vet tech education benifit a zoologist?
Getting a job as a zoologist is extremely competitive, my wife has a marine bio degree and six years volunteer experience as a dolphin and sea lion trainer. It took her two years of applying to get her first job in a zoo. The added qualification of a vet tech would be a huge advantage. But you do need experience dealing with exotic animals to even be looked at by a zoo. Start volunteering at an aquarium or zoo as soon as you can. The experience is priceless and that combined with a vet tech license will be a big boost to your resume! Good Luck!
