yeah absolutely not, the mentality your talking about is called cycling (alternating phases of strength and cardio training to build muscle and then cut it down) which is a perfectly safe and wise practice. HOWEVER, no cycling routine should have fasting in it! and they should last much longer than 24-36 hrs. Here’s whats going to happen if you do that: 1) you’ll be very tired and won’t want to go to the gym at all, you won’t be able to do near the weights you usually would and you won’t have productive workouts after fasting, I promise. 2) your body needs a set amount of calories per day just to run your heart, lungs, eyes, brain etc. if your a bigger guy this number could be up around 1500 calories. So say you eat zero calories for a day, obviously your heart isn’t just going to stop but your body needs the fuel from somewhere to run it. The first place it will turn is your muscles, breaking them down for energy to run more vital systems (a process called catabolization I believe). Y
