Will a tattoo cover stretch marks after pregnancy?

I was told by my tattoo artist that I trust very much that this will not work. The reason is because stretch marks are tears in the dermis ( the layer of skin under the epidermis) and that is the layer that the ink goes in. When the ink goes into those tears, there is not enough tissue to hold the ink in one spot, so eventually it will spread out into the tear and be a big blurry mess. I would have an artist look at it, and depending on how deep they are and the amount of ink in the tattoo it may work, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. I was very disappointed too.
