My boyfriend just got a tattoo to cover some scars on his arm. The tattoo is of two guns crossing and a dove at the top of them. The tattoo artist did it so that the biggest scar made up the dove’s belly, giving it a pink color. It looks really cool and natural. It is true that the scar might not take color as well as healthy skin might, and it could reopen once it is tattooed over. But my boyfriends tattoo is healing well, and you can barely see the scar so I would say yes, a tattoo can cover a scar!
