Will a Quadro work on an x58 board?

It will work on x58.but….. To run all the heavy 3D rendering you need a 12mb L2 cache, quad, OC. I will not go with the 920, >thats your bottel neck I build for CBS, technicolor and others most of my texture artist buy the servers (single cpu boards), but with 64 bit Win 7 ultimate, i will go with socket 775, Q 9550, (9650 is better but $110 more for 0.12ghz?),16-24 GB of DDR2 (1066-1200), OC IT TO 4.5 GHz. auto load, If you do HD, real flow, mudbox, etc. you must get 2 raptors in RAID 0, and a 32mb buffer large storage hdd. dont confuse gaming with 3D WORK, Drop the SLI some progs wont run on 64 w/o emulating, so 32 bit + 4B of GREAT RAM will get overall better results even os is an isue, lots of time I strip XP to bare minimum, to use the least ram posible, streamline (black editions) are available on line.
