PS3 games are region free, you just need to make sure you get a PAL version for them to work properly in the UK. What doesn’t work is Blu Ray / DVD playback because if you buy one in Hong Kong it will be locked to the Asian region coding. It’s questionable if it’s worthwhile buying one in Hong Kong – the price may look cheaper, HKD2880 / approx £220, but if you get caught bringing it through customs the 10% duty and 15% VAT you would need to pay would make it the same price as you can get them for in the UK.
