Will a miniature sicilian donkey kill goats?
It all depends on the donkey. My neighbor has a donkey and also had 3 Pygmy goats. After the donkey killed one adult goat and started attacking another, she gave me her remaining goats. This was an adult donkey, so it wasn’t a matter of a baby playing too rough. On the other hand, there are some donkey breeders who raise donkey specifically to be goat guardians. An experienced guardian breeder will be able to match you with a donkey that’s appropriate for your situation. With llamas it would be the same thing….not every llama is a guardian, and sometimes intact males and late geldings will even try to breed goats and suffocate them in doing so. Again it’s always best to buy from a reputable breeder who knows something about guardians and how to raise and evaluate them appropriately. If you just want a pet donkey I would suggest looking for one that already has been living with goats and has proven to be safe with them. I’d never trust one that hadn’t been around goats to be safe with
