Will a linksys wireless-G broadband router extend signal?

0

I live in an area where they say WiFi is not available, but the building next door to me allows me to connect thru its signal, so I assume that the wireless signal that I’m getting is broadband. My delima is that I cannot move my laptop out of my bedroom without losing signal. Can I connect a linksys wireless-G router to my laptop in bedroom and then take other wireless capable laptop to other area of house and pick up signal. In response to GTB, first of all I’m not stealing this connection, if u would notice I stated they ALLOW me to use this connection. And second of all, I do PAY for internet service, $70.00 monthly, but this connection is far faster than what ATT offers me. Just didnt think u needed all the personal details to answer a simple question. But thanks anyway.
