Will a hifonics zxi 1006 power 2 12″ alpine type rs?
no, hifonics amps are junk- very over rated, you would be lucky to get half of the advertised RMS wattage- you need to look into CEA-compliant brands (like your subs) which means that the amp can produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion you need an amp with about 1000watts RMS @ 1 or 4ohms and is CEA-compliant (at 1ohm the sound quality is not as good as at higher impedance’s (ohms) but it is easier (cheaper) to power); companies that make amps that are 1ohm stable are harder to find but i know that Fosgate make them here are the top CEA-compliant brands Alpine Bazooka Blaupunkt Clarion Eclipse Infinity JBL JL Audio Kenwood Kicker (my favorite, not stable below 2ohms) MTX Pioneer Polk Audio Rockford Fosgate (1ohm stable amps) Sony
