For dogs (and cats) caffeine is lethal just like chocolate. The darker the chocolate the more lethal – but mild milk chocolate will still make them quite ill and could still be lethal in large amounts. But back to the coffee – A lethal dose of caffeine for your dog (undiluted) would be about 150 mg. To give you an idea of how much this is, 1 teaspoon of coffee (undiluted) has about 60 mg. Best thing to do? Keep all human food out of reach. Some examples of some things you may not think of: Grapes and raisins will kill your dog. Even one serving of raisins can kill him. They are highly toxic to animals. Apple seeds have cyanide and will harm your dog or kill him. Carrots and green beans cannot be digested and can cause pancreatitis. Onions cause respiratory problems, like asthma. Tomatoes can cause heart problems, tomato plants (the green leaves and stem) will certainly be fatal.
