Will a “diamond” grinding cup wheel strip paint from concrete?
Yes, it will strip paint easily, however, that is an expensive way to strip paint. The diamond cup wheel is for milling the concrete down, and I consider it overkill for stripping paint. They make a backer pad and course, medium and fine abrasive scratch pads that can be used on a high-speed 4 1/2 inch angle grinder. I use the fine pad mostly to remove paint from concrete without removing significant concrete with the paint. It comes off real fast (one pass) even with the fine pad. If you are in a hurry, use the course. I bought mine at Lowe’s Home Improvement center.
