I don’t think that any sort of surface treatment is going to prevent groundwater from percolating into your basement after heavy storms. I have a fairly large solid concrete patio along the back of my home. We’ve had to install a sump pump in our window well to kick the water that percolates into the well out into our yard. The issue is that the back of our house is in a low spot, so the water just comes up and eventually gets in through the basement window sill. The first place i would look to solve your issues is your gutters. Are your gutters clean? if you don’t have large enough gutters to handle these storms, with enough downspouts, you will have water coming in at your foundation. You should ask a guttering expert if you have enough downspouts. Most new construction uses a bare minimum. Your downspouts need to have fairly long runs on them to get the water 6-8 feet from your foundation. if you don’t like laying galvanized guttering on your lawn, consider burying them…run some t
