Will a catalytic converter clogging up cause a timing chain to break?

Your catalytic converter should NEVER clog up, if it does someone shoved something up into your exhaust. Your timing chain should never break, especailly on something as new as a 2003. Sounds like a defective timing chain.

A clogged converter prevents the cylinders from scavenging the exhaust, it does not put any stress on the timing chain, you will have a loss of power, and possibly a high engine temp. I think at 100,000 mis.
