Will a audio-technica ATR-55 Condenser Shotgun Microphone work with a gs180?

Good question and luckily the answer is yes! The Panasonic GS180 has a 1/8″ mini-stereo microphone input, meaning it can take all shotgun or lavalier mics with the mini-stereo cable- this however, does not include the higher-end microphones, which have the XLR cable (which you would need an XLR adapter to upgrade, like the ones made by beachtek). The Audio-Technica ATR55 is a mini-stereo shotgun. There should be a small jack on your camcorder, resembling that of a headphone jack. It should be labeled “mic”. Other mics I encourage you to consider are the Rode VideoMic, the Sennheiser MKE 300 and the Azden SGM-X if you don’t already have your heart set on the ATR55. You may decide that these mics are worth the slightly bigger investment, or you may not. All are mini-stereo shotguns as well. Hope that helps.
