Why would the Dixie Chicks make comments that would be detrimental to their success?
They made a mistake at the essence of the moment. Sure, they express their true feelings, sure the wanted to be approved by the crowd of the minute, and like anyone thinking they know more than they know, they blew it. How does one know? They continued to stand by their ignorance claiming it is free speech and it is free speech, but free speech to their fans is not the same thing as free speech to the truth. There are several truths and complicated and hidden, but Music lives off its popularity to account for its sales, it is a business. In the end, their fans still love their music but they feel they have a right to download their songs without paying now, they prefer Radio to Boycott them too as they listen to them in Private, they refuse to attend their Concerts in numbers they once had and will never see again. In essence, the Dixie Chicks did speak and sing their minds, but their fans did too, by not supporting them in the numbers they expected. This is why they have written apolo
