Why would someone make up a virus hoax?
A- A virus hoax typically is made for a number of reasons. a) The hoaxer feeds off the fears of people that are not educated in virus protection. Simply put, the hoaxer is malicious and enjoys the fear he / she spreads. b) The hoax is designed to clog email servers and degrade performance. These you can normally identify by the common phrase found in the message; “FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!” An email has a “header” on it.
