Why would someone get an ileostomy if theyve had liver failure?

Dear Beth Ileostomy is never done for liver failure (NEVER). Ileostomy is a procedure where Ileum (Small bowel) is opened out side to skin, and it is done for many reasons like Colon (large bowel) is surgically removed (e.g. Ulcerative colitis, or ischemic colitis) or there is some distal obstrution. It is rarely done in adults and more often in children. Probably you have seen a patient who had both liver pathology and Gut pathology (There are many condition where both can develop together).
