Why would someone avoid kidney dialysis?

0

I have never had dialysis but my dad did for over 5 years. I volunteered to give him 1 of my kidneys but he would not hear of it. He decided that since he was 75 he would just do dialysis. It was sad to see him go thru the treatments 3 times a week but he didnt complain. For the most part he was able to lead a full life. The days he took a treatment he was weak so he rested a lot more. The other days he gardened, fished, walked 4-5 miles or played dominoes with his buddies. He was on hemodialysis in the center but my father in law did his dialysis at home and got constant infections not to mention he had to spend 10-12 hours a day “hooked up”. It is a personal choice but if you are in need of a donor kidney and one is not available you gotta do what you gotta do unless you just give up.
