Why would JamBase get involved with a paid service?
JamBase is continuing to do what we set out to: spread the word on the best bands in the world. The goal is to help bands we love sustain their careers, and earning them money helps achieve that goal. This service will extend well beyond our community, as we have the opportunity to enable new (mainstream) fans to get turned on to what we know is the best music out there through Rhapsody’s other distribution partners. With the money generated from this service, these bands will get paid for their distributing their work on the web – for the first time ever. JamBase and all of the bands are working here to expand the space for everyone. If we can get more people turned on to these bands, more of them can make a living playing music. Hopefully, we can make a difference in getting more people listen to the music we love, and less people to listen and support the plastic pop garbage that infiltrates the airwaves and eMpTyV.
