Why would God care if we ate from the Tree of Knowledge?
Think about it. It’s the “Tree of Knowledge.” Knowledge is a Christian’s worse enemy. If you ate from the tree, then you might be thinking crazy thoughts, such as how crazy it is to believe in a god who will punish anyone who does not worship him or believe in him by sending them to a place where they will suffer for eternity, feeling endless agony through watching themselves burn forever in a lake of fire…all alone. They will hear the screams of others in the distance, yet never be able to reach them. It will be the most painful, most agonizing experience they will ever feel, and they will feel it forever… ….but he LOVES you.
If one looks at the tree of knowledge of good and evil symbolically, then it could be seen like this. Children possess a goodness that is not jaded by concepts of good and evil. Since few educated people take the Bible literally, it could be that as the concepts of good and evil evolved in our species, a certain loss of innocence occurred that resulted in more difficulty for mankind as a species I have a cute little dog that loves to kill small squirrels and mice. I do not believe it has any concept of good or evil. It feels no guilt when it kills. In fact, I think it gets great pleasure out of killing, as that is part of his breeding.
The story of Adam and Eve has many morals to the story. It states that you should listen to God as God has your best interests in mind (ie you don’t want to do something that you will regret later on). It states that disobeying God is a bad thing to do and as such you should be faithful. And it states that knowledge is a double edge sword, once Adam and Eve gained knowledge, Eden was ruined for them (they saw the dangers and imperfections in the perfect garden), this meant that Eden could never be a perfect place ever again as with knowledge comes mistrust, questioning, curiosity (which we all know can lead to disaster), and worst of all a loss of faith.
God DIDN’T care of we ate from the Tree of Knowledge, if such a thing existed. but in fact, the “Tree of Knowledge” is never mention in the bible! What He DID care about was eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God wants us to have much Knowledge — the Writings of Solomon are all about that. Find knowldge, for from knowledge comes wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom are to be cherished like jewels! What God DIDN’T want us to have was Knowledge of Good and Evil. God provided for, and wanted us to know about only, GOOD. God provided ONLY GOOD for mankind, but Adam and Eve’s disobedience to God’s command released evil into the world.
Adam did have intelligence he named all the animals. Genesis 2:19, “And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.” He just did not have a knowledge of good and evil Yes, God created Man so he could have someone to fellowship with. So, he created man in his own image. Adam and Eve walked with God. And God would come and talk with them in the cool of the day. God made a paradise for them and met their every need. But, Satan had a plan to break up this little party. He knew that his punishment for his rebellion would be eternal damnation and he was too proud to admit he was wrong, and seek God’s forgiveness. So, what does he do? He tempts Adam and Eve to commit the same sin that he did! Yes, just take a look at it: Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, , I will exalt my throne above the stars of G
