Why would anyone buy a VW Jetta Diesel? ?
sure it gets 41 MPG, but why would people buy this? I agree if someone likes diesel engines… but that’s it. 1. Fuel filter change every 20,000 miles = $30.00 (part) 2.Oil change: You have to use Volkswagan’s special 507.00 oil at the dealer. Each quart is $10 and you need 5 of them. YOu can’t get cheaper ones at an auto parts store because none of them are 507.00. 3. Diesel is 2 times expensive than regular gas. QUestion: Why would anyone buy a diesel? You’re wrong. On VW gas cars, you do not have to change the fuel filter for the life of the vehicle. On my MItsubishi, you don’t have to change it until 60,000 miles. Diesel filters are twice or three times the cost of gas filters. 507.00 VW approved Oil… not $507.00….. duh! KB, Check your owners manual. I’ll bet you it says “Fuel filter change is not required” I used to own a Jetta… I know. kb, that’s if you own the new model bug, not the vintage ones.
