Why would a person buy solid 3/4″ wood flooring as opposed to engineered ?

Really it has to do with application .The 3/4″ solid wood floor, which is a naildown floor is the most common and also can be refinished indefinitely, whereas the the engineered can usually only be refinished a few times. With the new finishes though,it’s really not too likely you’ll need to refinish your engineered floor very often. Engineered floors are more stable, and can be used in a direct glue down application on concrete, on or below grade or nailed direct. Both floors are good, it just depends on your application needs.
