Why would a Lions Club want to have a web site?
That’s not a rhetorical question. It is the first question you should ask yourself and your club if you are even thinking about having a presence on the World Wide Web. Just a few valid reasons for having a club website might be to: • acknowledge the presence of a club in your city or area • let the public know what a Lions Club is and how they might join your club • let the public know what your club does for the community • let members of other clubs know when and where you meet • let members know of coming events A good website will make people want to return to it in the future. Here are some things that turn site visitors off: • too slow to download (too many photos, large files, counters, animations, etc.) • no real information • no new information (the site must be maintained) The actual process of creating a web site can be very simple, or it can be as difficult as you desire (as in full time job). The site can be free or it can cost a small amount ($10/month) to a great deal o
