Why would a European want to be proud of European history?
The history of man is one of oppression, pillage, murder and distraction. What is amazing is that any civilization can arise out of this. Before you get on your high horse about the oppression of the Indian tribes by Europeans you should remember that they were oppression and enslaving each other before Europeans ever showed up. It would be more helpful for me to understand what you regard as a people group that has a good history because I have never found one. Again it is amazing that coming out of all the greed and corruption that we have freedom today. It seems to me that good things have happened in spite of history. Again the real issue is not the negativity that has happened in the past but how our behavior contributes to the negativity that is happening now. Because one day people will look back at us and judge our behavior as rude, stupid, oppressive and greedy. We need as much mercy as our forefather did.
