Why Work-Integrated Learning?
Work-Integrated Learning is your opportunity as an employer to develop successful relationships with soon to graduate university and high school students whilst enhancing the professional development of students. There have been numerous studies and reports developed by various Industry bodies that have clearly identified the apparent lack of workplace skills development in undergraduate programs versus the expectations of graduate employers. To overcome these concerns, the implementation of an Internship program focusing on the development of real, on-the-job training experiences, prior to graduation, will help to ensure that each and every student is aware of the actual work environments and activities involved in their chosen discipline. The current skills shortage also highlights the need for industry to proactively participate in programs which will encourage high school age students to further their education and enter the workforce in your respective industry.
