Why wont your 1988 dodge ram 318 not start has gas spark but wont start?
There is a possibility that the timing chain is worn and has jumped teeth on the gears. If this is the case, the valves will be out of time with the crank position and it won’t start. In my ’86 Ram, the gears were nylon which became brittle so teeth broke and allowed the chain to jump. I replaced the gears/chain (in 1996 at 180,000 miles) and it has gone another 100,000 miles.
