Why won the Rani / the Sontarans / the Zygons / etc. appear in a Big Finish audio?
Big Finish is reticent to use past creations that have already been featured in BBV/Bill Baggs’ successful line of “Audio Adventures in Time and Space”. That said, producer Gary Russell has said that he would be interested in featuring the Rani if the story were written by Pip & Jane Baker (who created the character and who wrote for her for BBV.) The Sontarans may, however, make an appearance in Big Finish’s Bernice Summerfield series; the Ice Warriors and Rutans already have appeared there.
