Why won the Bar Code Pen Scanner read the bar code?
Check to make sure the scanner is plugged in and connected properly. The scanner must be connected in line with a keyboard in order to collect bar code information. The scanner may illuminate and beep when a bar code is scanned if no keyboard is attached but no code will be detected. If your pen scanner is missing the code entirely for some passes, but sometimes works, try holding the pen at a 45 degree angle. Scan the barcode at different heights starting right on the surface. Repeat until you get the hang of it.
