Why won’t the 2.5″ Laptop HDD work with the 44-wire cable?
• Check the hard drive manufacturers’ web site for pin information and/or jumper information. Make sure the drive is pinned as Master/Single. • If the HDD is not spinning, make sure the 44-wire cable is not installed upside down. Be especially careful because permanent HDD damage may occur if the cable is installed upside down. • If the 44-wire cable is attached properly and the drive is still not spinning, try using an external 3.5″ to 2.5″ HDD adapter. Connect the adapter to the 2.5″ HDD and then connect the adapter to FastBloc® as you would a normal 3.5″ HDD. If this corrects the problem, you have a bad 44-wire cable or there is a power problem inside FastBloc® FE. • If the subject drive refuses to spin, or is making unusual sounds (whirring, clicking, etc…) you may have a defective drive that may not be able to be acquired by normal methods. • If the drive spins up but nothing (or unallocated clusters) shows in the preview, and you know there is data on the drive, you may have a la
