Why won my Sansa Express player play music or read data stored on my 64MB microSD card?
This issue occurs only when you are using a 64MB or lower microSD card. To address this issue, reformat the microSD card as FAT16. All low-capacity microSD cards that are 64MB or less are formatted as FAT12 from the factory. The Sansa Express player supports microSD cards that are formatted as FAT16 and higher. Therefore, any microSD cards with 64MB and less will not work with the Sansa Express player. SOLUTION 1 – Reformat the microSD card as FAT16: 1. Remove the microSD card from the Sansa Express player. 2. Insert the microSD card into a card reader (may require a microSD to SD adapter). 3. Backup all the music files and data stored on the microSD card. 4. Through your PC, reformat the microSD card as FAT16. 5. Copy all the music files back to the microSD card after format is complete.
