Why won my PCMCIA network/modem cards work in Windows NT 4.0?

CF-61, CF-62, and CF-63 laptops require a BIOS setting change to enable the PCMCIA slots for use by Windows NT 4.0. This BIOS setting should be applied before the actual installation of Windows NT 4.0. Note: You must apply the BIOS setting change each time the BIOS is reset. The BIOS is reset through the SETUP6x.EXE /F command or through the BIOS Setup Utility. • Boot the laptop with the First Aid Disk for your model. • Type CD C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ and press Enter. Note: “C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\” should be the path to the location of the file SETUP61.EXE for CF-61 laptops, SETUP62.EXE for CF-62 laptops, and SETUP63.EXE for CF-63 laptops. • For CF-61 laptops, type SETUP61 /CMOS 4A ON 6 and press Enter. For CF-62 laptops, type SETUP62 /CMOS 4A ON 6 and press Enter. For CF-63 laptops, type SETUP63 /CMOS 4A ON 6 and press Enter. • Remove the First Aid Disk from the FDD and reboot the laptop. • Install Windows NT 4.0. • In Windows NT 4.0, click on Start, Settings, and Control Panel. Double click
