Why won Lady Hypnotist do shows with smaller groups? My 20 friends and I are lots of fun—why doesn she think a hypnosis show is appropriate for our party?
Lady Hypnotist has been performing as a professional stage hypnotist for more than 13 years now. She’s experienced many different scenarios, from performing at military bases with jets flying overhead, to casual shows in fraternity livingrooms, to shows on ships, to boisterous comedy clubs, and more. What she has learned during that time is that it’s more important to her to walk away from an excellent show with her reputation in tact than to take the money and run away from an unsuccessful performance. Therefore, she would rather turn down a booking that is not conducive to a successful show. Hypnosis shows rely on audience participation. A good show will start with a minimum of *15 volunteers*. There must also be people left to make up an *audience*. Small groups tend to become too shy to volunteer and they don’t have enough members to make up a good “volunteer squad” and audience, anyway (and that’s even if all 30 or 40 of the people you invited actually show up).
