Why won ABBA or Universal Music release more ABBA songs from the vaults?
ABBA, particularly Benny and Bjrn as the songwriters and producers, are reluctant to release unissued songs, feeling that if they weren’t good enough to release at the time, they’re still not good enough now. They did relent in 1993 to allow the inclusion of ‘I Am The City’ on More ABBA Gold – More ABBA Hits, and in 1994 when several songs were released for the first time, some in full, but many in truncated form in the ‘ABBA Undeleted’ medley.
