Why women were excluded from signing the mayflower compact?
In 1620 women had no rights and therefore couldn’t make decisions nor sign the compact. Women didn’t have the right to vote in the United States until 1920’s and that was after a great deal of effort. Women’s rights have been slow in coming. In the 1970’s women still couldn’t get a credit card in their name. In the 1980’s the first woman was able to become a fighter pilot. Girls in sports has also changed. In the 1960’s there were very few sports that girls to do, but with the passage of Title 9 women’s and girls sport teams get more money.
