Why WLM download deleted email on hotmail?

Hello, I’m accessing my hotmail at multiple locations. I notice that WLM will download emails that I have already deleted. Any way to set WLM just to synchronize the mailbox, i.e., showing only the emails that I’ve left stored in the inbox? Outlook Express used to work this way. It’s annoying that WLM is not working in the same manner. Hope someone can help. Thanks.
