Energy & the environment are the burning topics of the moment. Most energy we consume in the UK today is derived from Oil or Gas. These supplies whilst sufficient at the moment are increasing in cost not only in monetary terms but also the environmental effects are becoming increasingly apparent. There are further major problems with the energy supply. Most of the countries that deliver the oil we all need are politically unstable which is causing further uncertainty in relation to supply. The world is using about 3% more oil each year, which can currently be produced from existing sources. This continual increase in supply can only be sustained for the next ten or so years, after this the world cannot increase production any more. In this situation with an increasing requirement, prices of all oil-based products & services would increase massively making todays prices seem cheap.
