Why will there be a specified tire rule in March 2009?
The rising costs of tires to compete in quarter midgets is staggering to many families and leading to an erosion in participation at events. Additionally, the altering of tires from the factory for competitive reasons results in unsafe racing conditions and sets a poor example for our youth in racing. A spec tire program will help control costs keep the playing field level and maintain the legality of the tires.
