Why will the baptismal font be moved to the entrance to the sanctuary?

0

Each Sunday we will be reminded of our baptism as we enter the sanctuary. In baptism God claims us and seals us to show that we belong to God. God frees us from sin and death and unites us to Jesus Christ in his death and resurrection. By water and the Holy Spirit we are made members of the church, the body of Christ, and joined to Christ’s ministry of live, peace and justice. The font will be portable so it can be moved to the chancel area for baptisms. Upon leaving the sanctuary it also reminds us of Jesus final words: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.
