Why will scores in games not be kept?
In order to emphasize skill development over “winning”, scores in these games will not be kept by UMHA volunteers as has been the case in the past. The OMHA and Hockey Canada stress that when scores are kept, the focus shifts away from skills development to “winning”. When players are put in a competitive environment without the skills to compete and succeed, they do not have fun and their confidence is undermined.
