Why will my credit be based on consumption billed in the low-usage month of January instead of in the summer when my usage is higher?

In order to provide the credit in the most efficient manner and in January as directed by the PSC, the credit will be based on the usage in your first bill of 2010 (scheduled meter readings between Jan. 1 and Feb. 2). The total credit is the same regardless of the month in which it is given back. If it were to be given back in a higher-usage month, the credit amount per kWh would just be lower. The bottom line is that customers will receive the total credit amount (approximately $365 million) and FPL will not keep any of the money.
