Not until you navigate to the last record does OOo correctly calculate the number of records in the recordset. While this record count is ‘provisional’ a * is displayed on the right of the record count (for example 1 of 61*). Click once on the last record navigation icon ( the >| icon in the bar under the table view) and again on the first record icon ( | Verified with OpenOffice 1.1.
