Why werent Wilsons Fourteen Points accepted by The Big Three?

0

Many of Wilson’s Fourteen Points were unrealistic (such as Point 6 dealing with Russia), or unacceptable (Britain was NEVER going to agree to Point 2, “Freedom of navigation upon the seas… alike in peace and in war.”) Further, having done most of the fighting and dying in WW1, France and Britain weren’t about to sit back and let USA (which hadn’t even joined the war until it had been going for over 2 and a half years), dictate any peace treaty, particularly one based on ideas that the losers shouldn’t be penalized in any way for losing.
