Why weren the proposed un-conference and PLL Summit selected as workshops?

0

Both the un-conference and PLL Summit were originally submitted to the AMPC as workshop proposals, to take place on the Saturday preceding the Annual Meeting programming. Under the current workshop proposal format, workshops are required to have measurable outcomes, capable of description at the time of submission. Because the latter workshop proposal was based on future activities upcoming during the year and the former proposal was based upon not having a learning outcome, the AMPC and AALL HQ quickly realized that these proposals did not fit the “classic” workshop mold. However, they also strongly believed that these unique programs should be held and supported, but in alternative settings to AMPC-sponsored workshops.
