Why Weren the Lions Hungry While Daniel Was In Their Den?
The lions were kept near starvation to make sure they would immediately devour any prisoner unlucky enough to be condemned to death. This is why they were so quick to devour Daniel’s accusers when they were tossed into the den. God loved both Daniel and his accusers. The difference was that Daniel lived in love and obedience to God and his king. And more importantly, he had a covenant or fellowship with God that brought them into a divine partnership.
