Why were there historically no ESITE points (or road address ranges) for some towns?
A.4: Originally, some towns chose not to participate in the Enhanced 9-1-1 re-addressing and GPS building location program. Those towns still have access Enhanced 9-1-1. However, the Map Display at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) only displays road information,. The E911\OTHER tabular dataset includes TOWNINFO.DBF, which has information about which towns chose this “grandfathered” option. There are 17 towns that originally had no site data available. However, the Enhanced 9-1-1 Board hired microDATA GIS, Inc., of St. Johnsbury to collect site data for these towns. Site data for these 17 towns was added to the Enhanced 9-1-1 Data set in 2004. These towns were: Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, Burlington, Dover, Fairfax, Groton, Huntington, Ludlow, Lunenburg, Middletown Springs, Milton, St. Albans City, Stannard, Swanton, Vernon, Westford and Winooski.
