Why were the TriGen implants designed without a chamfer in the screw holes?

The screw design offers a pointed tip to better direct the screw into the hole. Due to the cross sectional shape of the nail geometry, the chamfer would only add minimal improvement. This feature weakens the nail and does not add any benefit in the M/L direction. See Design Rationale.
